Martin Bonney is a UK-trained textile designer who uses both the print and embroidery combing method to bring together embellishments, colour and tactile surfaces. He studies engineered textiles, explores traditional machinery and uses them with digital and laser engraving for fashion-forward companies and individuals.
He recommends "Thinking Through Fashion: A Guide to Key Theorists" (Call No.: People Design/ Fashion/ 391 THI). For him, this book “brings together a mix of experts in the field of material culture and fashion design. It offers depth to the subject, and is an enjoyable read for all levels.”
Join Martin for our "Language of Fashion" Talk on 27 January, from 2pm to 3.30pm, to learn about how fashion communicates ideas, and the shifting values in the industry today.
