Smita is a breast cancer survivor and volunteer of BCF. She found out about her condition following a regular mammogram screening in 2015.
Thankfully, women who are diagnosed in the early stages e.g. stage 1 of breast cancer, have a 91% chance of surviving beyond 5 years as compared to those discovered at the later stages. Thus, three months after Smita had her operations, she was able to go on a vacation!
Early detection saves lives and breasts, and Smita is a great example of this!

We are delighted to partner with renowned artist Benny Ong to feature his collection of contemporary hand-woven art that explores the traditional and modern role of women.
Women Shoes Freedom is his homage to the myriad roles women have played over the years and their heroic quest for equality.
100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the " Sisters Soong " - by Benny Ong (image) will go to BCF.
