Despite the joyous atmosphere, CNY can really be an internal struggle for some. Thanks to the array of decadent snack. But, CNY need not be this stressful, with some witty moves, you can defeat that inner struggle, and snack guilt free.

- Meringue the Substitute for Kueh Bangkit
We know the euphoria you experienced, when these bite sized treats just melt in your mouth. We hate to burst your bubble, but despite its small size, this treat is high in saturated fat, which your blood vessels don’t fancy. Save your blood vessels from the agony, by picking up some fat-free meringue cookie instead, and still enjoy the “melting” sensation.

- Get the Steamed Nian Gao
Eating the Nian Gao during CNY symbolises a desire for growth in the coming year. Though Fried Nian Gao is yummy, but give yourself a chance to save 115 calories and 11.8 grams of fat by munching on its steamed friends.

Thanks to our flopped arms toning plan in 2016, this year we truly learned that toned arms are made in the kitchen. That’s why, we are feeding our muscles with the right nutrients, for we know no amount of workout can sculpt our muscles if we maintain an unhealthy diet.

- Calcium
When we exercise, our muscles contract, and yes, it is Calcium that gives our muscles the cue to contact - and therefore grow. Without calcium, our body wouldn’t send our muscles the signals to contact. This means the muscles are unable to perform properly, and the body would struggle to achieve a good muscle tone.
A simple way to load the calcium- grab the calcium fortified soya milk or bread from the shelves for your breakfast.

- Vitamin C
This vitamin is responsible for the health of the blood vessels that support the muscles’ needs for oxygen & nutrients. With more Vitamin C, the more effective our muscles are, and the faster they recover during exercise. This also means stronger muscles, and more defined muscles tone.
Dive in the goodness of Vitamin C, with items such as oranges, berries, kiwi, and dark leafy greens.

- Vitamin E
