近日中小學生上課、補習時間過長,成為各界關注焦點。現代青少年課業壓力繁重,加上不時熬夜讀書拚學習進度,一天可能睡不到9到10小時標準充裕睡眠。而缺乏睡眠除了導致上課時間集中力降低、影響學習力之外,現在有研究發現,青少年缺乏睡眠還可能增加罹患憂鬱症、出現不良成癮惡習的風險。

「每日郵報(DailyMail)」報導,美國匹茲堡大學(University of Pittsburgh)研究團隊找來35位、11歲到15歲青少年測試,分成兩組睡眠時間各為4小時與10小時,實驗兩晚後,再測試他們在情緒上的反應,以及大腦判斷能力的影響。

結果顯示,睡足10小時的青少年,大腦對於獲得「獎勵」較有反應,顯示他們對事情判斷較清晰。但只睡4小時的青少年,就算實驗將獎勵金額提高到10美金,大腦反應也比較差;情緒上也較有憂鬱傾向。

試想象你睡眠後,唔起身超過幾星期會點呢 ? 呢個惡夢發生係一個南佛羅里達州嘅年青人身上,因為佢患上咗一個罕見嘅病。18歲嘅米高肯柏 (譯名) 係一個台拳道黑帶,而且係一個無不良習慣嘅男仔,而呢個病竟然靜靜咁發生。米高指出 :「當病發時,我覺得整個世界不停咁轉,面我嘅思想停止咗一段時間。」然後,當米高去睡眠時,佢就「訓過頭」啦。佢足足睡眠超過兩星期 ! 米高嘅媽媽稱 :「每次佢病發,我行入佢房,都會流眼淚。因為望上去佢好似昏迷咗一樣。」原來經診斷後,米高患上一個病叫咗克莱恩-莱文综合症,又稱睡美人病。主要特徵係嗜睡,患者會連續睡好幾週,甚至係好幾個月,沉睡期間除咗自己醒去進食、喝水之外,任何事都叫不醒他。待這段沉睡期過了之後,患者會不記得這段期間發生的事。

The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Medical Faculty of Medicine studied "Home-Style" consultation of sleep apnea which can be provided portable equipment, so that, patients can stay at home for diagnosis. The results found that the implementation of "Home-Style" consultation can significantly shorten nearly 80% of waiting, and save medical costs 14 Thousand per person. (more…)

有外國媒體做過一個關於睡眠習慣嘅隨機調查。當問路人,點樣訓覺係最舒服嘅呢 ? 好多女士回答:被擁抱住然後進睡;而男士回答:唔著衫訓覺就最舒服。
睡眠習慣,男女大不同,一直以來都爭論不休。理論上脫光訓覺就冇任何束縛,感覺會更舒坦,對失眠嘅人有一定的安撫作用。只係對床上用品嘅面料和衛生條件要求就要好高。床單被套等至少一周就要換一次。而對於被擁抱住然後進睡,據調查指,其實係一種對安全感嘅需要,從生理層面反映出嚟,並非所有人都有需要。畢竟對於一D怕熱嘅人而言,擁抱進睡反而難以入睡。另外,有時候亦要面對,起身時或會因為睡姿欠佳而導致手腳麻痺。
Foreign media has done a random survey on sleeping habits. When they asked passengers about What or how to make you feel the most comfortable when you are going to sleep ? A lot of women answered, ‘Being hugged and then go to sleep together’, while many men said, ‘Well, clothes free is the most comfortable type !’.
Sleeping habits, men and women are different, has been debated endlessly. Theoretically, clothes free, you cannot feel any restraint and that will be more comfortable. Insomnia would be comfort on this habit. However, the bed products would be required a high level of hygiene. Bed sheets and quilts would be requested to make changes at least once a week. In the opposite, embraced and then go to sleep, according to the survey, is a sense of safety needs which is reflected from the physiological level to the biological level. That does not fit for everyone. After all, people may feel bad for embracing into sleep. It is because some people feel hot when they are being hugged. In addition, sometimes it may lead to paralysis by your bad sleeping position. (more…)

成日都聽到浸個熱水浴先瞓會好啲!浸熱水浴除左會令人放鬆之外,
仲可以調節體溫到一個身體進入準備睡眠時嘅狀態。浸熱水浴可以促進睡眠係因為我地嘅核心體溫會上升,當我地離開時體溫會慢慢下降,情況就會好模仿我地昏昏欲睡時所發生嗁自然狀態喇!

A hot bath can promote sleep because our core body temperature rises and then falls when we step out, mimicking what happens naturally when we get drowsy. 水係要飲嘅,但其實係瞓覺之前嘅一小時就最好唔好飲太多水啦。
咁就可以降低要瞓到中途又要起身去洗手間嘅次數同可能。
