Each year, there are approximately 63,000 reported road deaths in the ASEAN member countries, although the World Health Organization believes that the actual number lies at around 117,000 per year.
For decades, Bosch has been working on technological advancements with the vision of accident-free driving. The world’s first antilock braking system (ABS) for passenger cars dates back to 1978. This innovation allows the driver to maintain steering control and in most situations, shortens the braking distance without skidding. In 1995, Bosch improved the technology by developing the world’s first electronic stability program (also known as ESP or ESC) which is today equipped in 64 percent of all new cars worldwide.

Tunisian-born Amine has always been fascinated by Southeast Asia, so he jumped at the opportunity to return to Singapore to further his career. Having lived in Tunisia, Germany, Singapore, and travelling all across Southeast Asia for his role as sales manager for Automotive Electronics in the region, Amine thinks of Singapore as home, because home is to him where his family and friends are.

In 1971, at the Feuerbach site in Germany, Bosch leased the IBM 370 series, 165 model mainframe computer. Maintaining the computer was no easy task: it took one generator, 150 litres of water and 120 associates - with a scheduled downtime from 6am till 1pm every Monday. For Simon from Singapore, who works in the Finance department at Bosch Singapore, Christmas is a special time for family and friends to enjoy the wonderful season of joy and peace with one another. “We always gather among ourselves, with family, friends and church members, for Christmas celebrations since many years. Last year, my family and I went to Hong Kong to enjoy and experience a special Christmas overseas. It was an amazing trip with pleasant cool weather and excellent food, like for example, the famous Dim Sum.
This year we will celebrate Christmas here in Singapore, nevertheless I am looking forward to the upcoming Christmas season so much!”
