The purity of line of the Spirit of Forest dining table is magnified by the use of just a single material, solid European walnut, a noble species beloved of carpenters. Its judicious, timeless design and use of a very current material will strike a chord with today’s contemporary clientèle.
Used here as much for aesthetic reasons as for its nostalgic evocation of exceptional craftsmanship, the straight version of the dovetail joint, a method of assembly which harks back to ancient Egyptian times, is what holds top and legs together. A trapezium shape (dovetail) sitting in a corresponding cutout, this extremely durable assembly acts as a blocking key whilst also offering real decorative value.
