The blockprinting process for the freeform Chapa motif is unique to its own - instead of setting guidelines for the arrangement of the prints, like we normally do, we encouraged our artisan partners to find the freedom to choose their own placements. The novelty is in its individuality and every piece is a mark of their creative expression. #ChangeBeyondTextiles
Working mostly with artisans who were taught their skill by the generations before them, most of our partners grew up around the knowledge of their craft and later become small family businesses. Khushiram, a fifth generation blockprinter, started his own business and named it after his father who taught him how to blockprint. This is his latest investment: a workshop space filled with sewing units, built with the intention to train other women to sew and sustain their economic freedom. #ChangeBeyondTextiles

"If clothes are made using sustainable materials by skilled, fairly-paid workers, then this reduces returns / exchanges and avoids any bad press. It could save a big brand millions in wasted resources and PR firm fees - and in some cases, legal fees. Maybe it’s time major clothing brands started to get savvy about choosing their suppliers and materials."
From now until they run out, all orders over $200 USD will receive a free limited tote bag (selected at a random print).
Made from our blockprinted off-cut fabrics and finished with a jute detail, this essential is your grab-and-go for weekends away or days by the desk.
